Dorothy K. Swift, 77, of Atglen, died on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at her home. She was the wife of the late Donald W. Swift, Sr. who died in 2008.  Born in Colerain Twp., Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Laura Harris Hall. She was employed, for 25 years, by the Christiana American Legion Post as a cook.


She is survived by three children; Donald Swift Jr. and wife Florence of Atglen, Robert and wife Carol of Christiana and Betty, wife of Ray Thompson of Christiana, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother Eugene Hall of Ephrata and one sister Marian Huster of west Chester. She was preceded in death by seven brothers; Clyde, Jim, Morris, Walter, William, Harold and Howard Hall


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg followed by interment at the Atglen Methodist Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the funeral home from 10 to 11:00 am.

Along my memory lane Donnie and Bobby were part of the Main Street boys who, along with me and the gang, for better or worse enlivened the day to day activities in the neighborhood. I remember them well. Robert, Donald and Betty, one word comes to mind to describe your Mom when I think back to those days, sweet. May your memories of her be just that. My sincere condolences.

I remember when I first meant Mom Mom Swift... I was a teenage girl that went to visit my Aunt Florie and Uncle Donnie for the weekend. Since that Day I have always called her Mom Mom... She was the most kind, caring, and sweet person I ever knew. My heart goes out to all the family and friends. Matt,Debbie,Girls,Uncle Donnie, Aunt Florie,Betty and all You will be in my prayers and my thoughts though this time and always..

Donnie, Bobby and Betty,

Mark and I are sorry for the loss of your Mom. Aunt Dot was the kindest, most thoughtful person I knew. She always had a big hug for me everytime I saw her. I know this is a most difficult time in your life but keep all of the precious memories of her in mind. It is the best way to honor her that I know. Just remember that she loved you very much. May God bless you and your family and we will be keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
