Debra Ann MacMonegle, a youthful 70, left this world on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at home with her husband and two pets by her side. She was the beloved and adored wife of Charles W. MacMonegle Jr. for 43 years.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Antonucci) Schaefer. Debra grew up in Wilmington, DE. and was a 1971 graduate of the Alexis I. du Pont High School.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters: Anastasia Sieracki and companion BJ of Sadsburyville, PA and Kathleen Freeseman and husband Michael of Eglin AFB, Florida. She also Nana to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who she was extremely proud of and meant the entire world to her. The joy she felt for her grandchildren was brighter than the sun.

She was also survived by 2 sisters and a brother.

Debra was an extraordinary woman who was blessed with many talents. She worked, many years of her life, as a caregiver to children and the elderly. She also aided people in the training and correction of behavior issues with their pets. She was a short order cook, waitress, hostess, and chief cook and bottle washer if necessary.  Debra authored and illustrated a children's book dealing with life, death and renewal. However, Debra's first and greatest passion was that of a mother and grandmother.

Debra was a free-spirited person, whose presence brightened any room she entered. She had a passion for the arts, animals of all kinds, seafood, and an excellent cup of coffee. She was playful and young at heart despite her age in years. She was not afraid to get dirty but never left the house without her makeup on. Her voice will be heard through the ages and be remembered as a woman that was a “force of nature to be dealt with.”

A private Celebration of Life Service is being planned for a later date.

Condolences

I am so sorry for the families loss. She was like a second mom to me as Katie and I grew up in middle school. Breaks my heart to learn of their loss. She was truly loved.
