Charque Bacon
Charque Bacon, 28, of Slippery Rock, Pa., formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 in Lancaster.
Born in Coatesville, Charque was the daughter of Charletta Green and Curtis Bacon, Sr. An area resident for most of her life, Charque was a graduate of Octorara High School and completed two years with Master's Commission Bible Institute.
Charque served as a youth leader at the Parkesburg Point, connecting with numerous young people through her love, smile, creativity, and love for God. Charque's creativity, uniqueness and artistry were expressed through spoken word, rap, poetry and her ability to bring people together from different walks of life. Her Mother called her a "nova" as she could shine incredibly bright and respectfully blend in. Charque was a free-spirit who followed the leading of the Spirit.
She enjoyed watching Martin, scary movies, and some reality TV shows, and she was unashamed of her love for SpongeBob, even requesting a SpongeBob theme for her graduation party.
Charque is survived, in addition to her parents, by her siblings, Curtis Bacon, Jr., Jaleel Watson, Jasmine Watson, Alex Bacon, Eddie Bacon, Antonio Bacon and Olivia Bacon; her grandparents, Diane Mason, and husband Vincent, Samuel Teel, and wife Paula, and James Faust and Jeanette Faust; and aunts and uncles, Altaz Allen, Brian Allen, Tyrone Allen, Cassandra Thompson, Derine Teel, Selena Teel, and Tashi Mason; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, and uncles.
Charque loved anyone she'd meet, but she especially loved her family and absolutely adored her nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at 11 AM at The Parkesburg Point, 700 Main St, Parkesburg, PA 19365, with a viewing from 9 AM until the time of the service. A repass will follow the service.
For those that cannot attend the funeral service, it will be broadcast live on Wilde Funeral Home's Facebook page, which can be accessed by clicking here.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Parkesburg Point in memory of Charque or to a GoFundMe page that has been set up by the family.
