Charles W. Hendricks, Sr., 83, of Elverson, passed away on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 at the Tel Hai Retirement Community. He was the beloved husband of Janice L. Hatfield Hendricks, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.
Born in Doe Run, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Alice E. Book Hendricks. He was a 1948 graduate of the Scott High School. He served honorably in the US Army.
Charles was employed in the Dairy Business as an Ag. Technician for Atlantic Breeders, retiring in 1992.
He was a life member of the Modena, Brandywine and Elverson Fire Companies and was a former member of the Wyebrook Church.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his two sons: Charles W. Hendricks, Jr. and wife Jaime of Honey Brook and Cary W. Hendricks and wife Colleen, of Morgantown; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Rose E. Wilson and Mona Pluck. He was preceded in death by three siblings; Pearl Hall and Theodore and Robert Hendricks.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10 to 11:00 am.
