Catherine M. McLaughlin (nee McClenaghan), 84, of East Fallowfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of her beloved husband of 52 years, Michael J McLaughlin Sr.
She is survived by her three children: Michael J. McLaughlin Jr, fiancée of Jodi Farrow, of Cochranville, Patrick J McLaughlin, husband of Richard G Monteleone, of Bradenton, Fl, and Catherine M Darmiento of Coatesville. She also was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren (Joseph, Rebecca, Aubrey, Shane, Conner), and one great granddaughter (Leilani Rose) and sister of Mary E. Brisbin, husband of Richard of Norristown. Catherine was the daughter of the late Catherine Marie (Thomsen) and John J McClenaghan Sr, and sister of the late John J McClenaghan Jr (Rose), and Charles McClenaghan (Geraldine).
Catherine was born in South Philadelphia where she graduated from St Gabriel’s grade school. After graduating West Catholic High School in 1952, she went to work at Day and Zimmerman until the birth of her first child. This is where her most special and favorite career began. She devoted her life to being the best wife, mother, aunt and friend.
The viewing will be held on Monday evening, June 4th from 6 until 8 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, and again on Tuesday morning at Our Lady of Consolation Church in Parkesburg Pa from 10am until the time of the service.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 5th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 W 2nd Ave, Parkesburg, PA 19365 followed by interment at the Parkesburg Catholic Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made in Catherine’s name to either Avon Grove Lion’s Club(600 N Baker Station Road, West Grove PA 19390) or Neighborhood Hospice(400 East Marshall Street, West Chester PA 19380)
