Barbara Pauline Moyer Wertz Young

Barbara Pauline Moyer Wertz Young, 76, of Honey Brook, formerly of Parkesburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Tel Hai Nursing Home.  She was the beloved wife of George Wilson Young, with whom she shared 20 years of marriage, and her first husband the late William P. Wertz, Sr., with whom she shared 24 years of marriage.  

 
Born in West Chester, Barbara was the daughter of the late James and Sara (Lyle) Moyer.  She was a graduate at the Parkesburg High School, where she would later volunteer as a Teacher's Aide and Crossing Guard.    
 
She was a 64 year active member of the Parkesburg Baptist Church.
 
Barbara was employed by the Chester County Court House Recorder of Deeds Office.  
 
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by her four children: William Wertz Jr., husband of Penny, Melanie W. Wagner, wife of Daniel, James Wertz and Jeffrey Wertz, husband of Cheryl; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and three siblings, James Moyer, Delno Moyer and Ada "Jackie" Ellingsworth.  
 
Barbara was predeceased by her first husband, William, her brother George Moyer and her grandson, Matthew Wertz.
 
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 21st, 2012 at 11 AM at the Parkesburg Baptist Church, 103 West Street, Parkesburg, PA 19365 with Rev. Robert Coats officiating.  The visitation will be held from 10 until 11 AM.  The interment will be private.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to the Parkesburg Baptist Church at the above address.

George - What a dear person Barbara was. May many fond memories sustain you through this difficult time. So glad that you had a wonderful marriage. Trust in God, He is always there for you.
I remember living in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue and walking by your home, or you by ours many times. Always took a few minutes to chat.
Your kindness and faith remain close to my heart.

Dear George and Family,
We are thinking of you and express our heartfelt condolences. Barbara was a fine lady who's eyes would always sparkle when she saw you. She had a devoted husband,who is still showing all the love between them. George you are admired and respected in the community by the deeds you did and continue to do each day. To Barbara's children,I knew you and your Mom through good and bad times, but with her strength that she instilled in each of you, her memory and spirit will help you through this period. She never gave up or stopped loving you.
