Allen L. Mendenhall

Allen L. Mendenhall, 91, of West Caln, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Paoli Memorial Hospital. He was the widower of the late Mary S. Gregor Mendenhall who died in 2017. They shared 63 years of marriage together. Born in West Brandywine Township, he was the son of the late George W. Mendenhall and Grace Arters Mendenhall. 

Allen was an area resident all his life. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He was employed by the Cigas Machine Shop for 37 years as a machine operator retiring in 1996.

Allen enjoyed vegetable gardening, birdwatching, traveling, fishing, hunting, and going to the casino. Most off all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by three children: Hedwig "Hedy" Thompson and husband Richard of Honey Brook, Danny Mendenhall and wife Jill of Honey Brook and Ronald Mendenhall and wife Wendy of Pottstown, PA; three grandchildren: Richard Thompson, Allen Mendenhall and Dominica Mendenhall; five great-grandchildren: Josslyn, Evan, Lillian, and Jace Thompson; and one brother Paul Mendenhall of Paoli, PA. He was preceded in death by three sons: Larry, Allen, Jr. and Dennis Mendenhall and five sisters and three brothers. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with a viewing from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Interment will follow, with military honors, at the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville, PA.
