Patricia DeCarlo, 78, of West Grove, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family with her granddaughter Shanna singing to her by her side. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Hess and Martha Campbell Hess. 

Pat was an area resident all her life. She was a member of the first graduating class at the Octorara High School in 1959. She was employed for 27 years by Pepperidge Farms retiring in 1995 as a production line leader. 

She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg. 

She loved to travel and drove across Country eight times with her girlfriend Marie Price.
She also loved music, singing, doing jigsaw puzzles and reading. She read thousands of books and collected books for her library.

She is survived by three children; John Norton of Kinzers, PA, Roxanne Dowell and husband Dave of North Port, Florida, Joanne LePore and husband Michael of Lancaster, four grandchildren;  Shanna Ware and husband Steve Ferrell of West Grove, PA with whom Pat lived with and was cared by, Savannah Maldando and husband Andy of Brookhaven, MS, Gabrielle Ortiz husband Jose of Columbia, PA and Natasha Lepore of Coatesville, PA six great grandchildren and one sister Dorothy Manley of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by five siblings; Donna Froelich, Norman Hess, Arthur Hess, Jr., Emmanuel Hess and Mary LePore. 

A Life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkeburg, PA with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

We send our love and prayers to Pat's entire family.Pat showed her love of God to everyone she met. She was such a wonderful and happy person.

  To Shanna, Steve, and Darrius You could not have done more to make those last years easier or more pleasant for your Mom Mom. You have done a wonderful job of caring. Pat was one of a kind. Mom will miss all the conversations with Pat dearly. So thankful that Pat is now singing with the Saints in Glory.
