Burnita June Hilton, 93, of Christiana, PA, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Brandywine Hospital. She was the widow of the late Herman L. "Pete" Hilton with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Ellsworth and Matilda L. Shindle. 

Burnie was a resident of Christiana since 1947 and raised her family there. She was a member of the Latta Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Christiana Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Burnie loved watching basketball and playing cards.

She is survived by four children: Paula Smith, Carl Hilton, Sherry Root and William Hilton, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two siblings; Elmer Shindle, Jr. and Mable Miller 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Sadsbury Friends Burial Grounds, Simmontown Road, Gap, PA.
