55 Years
Glenmoore, Pennsylvania

Joanne M. Cardine, age 55, of Glenmoore, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, April 24th, enveloped in the warmth and comfort of her home of 14 years, surrounded by friends and family. She was the beloved wife of Craig Cardine, with whom she shared 28 beautiful years of marriage.

Joanne was born in Washington, D.C. to Emilie (Barone) and Joseph William Murphy. Her life was accented by a love for music and faith - two passions intertwined through her lifelong service as a teacher of Music Education at parochial schools including St. Joseph’s of Downingtown and St. Maximilian Kolbe, and as the Music Director for Our Lady of Consolation Church - a position she held for 28 years. Through these callings, she touched the lives of countless children and adults alike. At a young age she fell in love with the beach, a place where she felt close to God. Joanne lived and loved through her faith, family and friends.

Joanne is survived by her three children, Paul Luke, Emilie Rose, and Benjamin Charles, her devoted husband Craig Cardine, her siblings Ellen Ambrosini of Harwood, MD, Michael Murphy of Easton, MD, and Patrick Murphy of Grantsville, MD, and her cats Ringo and George who never left her side.

The Mass Celebrating Her Life will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 12 noon, at Our Lady of Consolation, 603 W 2nd Ave, Parkesburg, PA 19365, with a viewing at the Church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Victor J. Eschbach will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Our Lady of Consolation” earmarked “Music Ministries”.

Parking will be at the A. Duie Pyle parking lot at 100 S Limestone Rd, Parkesburg, PA 19365. A shuttle bus will provide transportation to and from the church.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

My heartfelt condolences to the family during your time of bereavement. Many can relate to what it feels like to be touched by sting of death. What has helped me to cope were scriptures such as John 5:28,29; Revelation 21:3,4; 1 Peter 5:7. Reading and thinking on these scriptures can help to bring you comfort and strength in the weeks, months and years ahead. Knowing that your loving heavenly Father understands and cares about what you are going through at this time can be a real source of strength and comfort you need.

We will always remember Joanne for her beautiful and loving spirit, her musical talent and how she touched the lives of those who knew her in such a positive way. To celebrate Joanne's life and her passion to inspire others through her music and faith, we are making a gift to the Our Lady of Consolation Music Ministries program to continue the important work that Joanne was such an important part of. May the beautiful memories of Joanne sustain the Cardine family and all of us who were fortunate enough to have known her. She is truly one of a kind.

Blessings and much love from the Houtsinger Family (Jeanie, Norman, Hailey and Caitlin)

Dearest Joanne,

I will never forget the day that I met you many years ago when Gracie was just a baby – I wanted to serve at church in the music ministry – and you said, “just come”. We started worshiping together every Sunday. For a long time, it was just music, and I loved playing with you. You encouraged me to sing, but your voice was so beautiful that I just wanted to listen to you sing. Then we began socializing together – you continued to say, “just come”. Our families had the pleasure of spending many gatherings together sharing food, drinks, stories, and making some great memories.

You have inspired me in your fight, your faith, your family, your friendship, and your music. We are all so blessed because of you. I am sure the angels were singing a joyful song when you came walking home. I’m also sure that you are singing with that beautiful voice once again!

Craig, Paul, Emilie, and Ben, our deepest sympathy for your loss. You are all much loved.

Joanne,
I remember you once telling me that the worst part of your illness was not the cancer, but not being able to sing. Now, my friend, you can sing without stopping.
Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of strength and patience. Fly high and continue to be with us through your love for music. I love you and will sorely miss you.

Craig, Emilie, Paul and Ben, my heartfelt prayers to all of you.

Joanne was part of my family through her sister Ellen's marriage to my bother Mike and before that our families knew each other growing up in Bowie. So, I have had the privilege of knowing Joanne since she was a young girl. Joanne was one of those special persons who everyone loved. She was always so kind, generous, and beautiful inside and out - and she lived her life through her faith entirely - we should all take a lesson from this wonderful wonderful human being who is now, without a doubt, one of God's special angels. My prayers are with Craig, Paul, Emilie and Ben, Ellen, Mike, Jenna, Michael and Christopher, and her mom Emily and everyone else who knew and will miss Joanne

We were so sad to hear that you lost your battle with cancer.  We remember the years you were at Notre Dame de Lourdes and especially the plays that you and Mrs. Apelian started.  They were such fun and such a great experience for the children.  I think they loved everything you did with them and missed you very much when you left!  We have wonderful memories of a kind, gentle and loving soul with a great gift.  You were taken much too soon.  There are so many more children that you could have inspired!  We are so glad you shared your talent and love with our school!  Our prayers are with you and your family.

This woman will always be absolutely amazing in my eyes. She always radiated God’s love through her gorgeous smile and inviting words. She always had a gift for making others happy and loved. She is why I love the fine arts as much as I do today, and I don’t know what I would have done without her. I love you so much Mrs Cardine. To the Cardine family, you are very much in my thoughts and prayers in this time, and I offer my condolences.
