John W. Hillworth, 71, of Pomeroy Heights, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Carol Sue Cruz Hillworth. Born in Elverson, he was the son of the late Russell and Thora Ream Hillworth.
john was a County resident all his life. He served honorably in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He was employed most of his life as a mason in construction.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by four sons; John, Mikey, Angel, Junior and Baldito, four daughters; Dawn, Tammy, Madisyn and Mary Lou, fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother Russell "Pappy" Hillworth and four sisters; Linda, Doodle, Lita and Sissy. He was preceded in death by one sister Barb.
Funeral services will be held on Monday evening Feb. 26, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA. Viewing from 6 to 7:30 PM. Interment is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27th, 1:00pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. 1117 Country Club Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17316.
