John Raymond Hawk, Sr., 75, of Parkesburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Bonnie Lou Lawrence Hawk who died in 2013. Born in Somerset, PA, he was the son of the late John V. and Helen Minnier Hawk. 

John was a Parkesburg resident most of his life. He retired from the US Air Force in 1975 as a S/Sgt in communications. Later, he was employed by the High Energy Corp. of Atglen. 
John enjoyed watching Penn State Football and the Philadelphia Phillies. 

He is survived by two children; Jonelle Gote and husband Matthew of Quarryville and John R. Hawk, Jr. and wife Lori of Parkesburg, eight grandchildren and two brothers Thomas Hawk of Parkesburg and Mark Hawk of Palm Springs, CA. He was preceded in death by one brother Peter Hawk. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Atglen Presbyterian Cemetery. Viewing from 10 to 11am.

John was two years older, but part of many memories...Boy Scouts, joining the Ar Force at the same time. John was just a nice guy. RIP "Hardrock".

Deepest sympathy to the family. Hardrock was an asset to the Parkesburg United Methodist Church for many years. He took care of the building & sidewalks in the winter. May fond memories be with you.
