Joy Kathleen Gill, 38, of Parkesburg, died on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Brandywine Hospital. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of James L. Gill, Sr. of Parkesburg and the late Anne Yunkin Gill.


She is survived, in addition to her father, by four children; Chelsea Gill of Christiana, Shawn, Andrew and Dallas Gill all of Parkesburg, one granddaughter Allena Kaylynn Szczesniuk and four siblings; Patti Merrill of Christiana, Vicki York of East Earl, James L. Gill, Jr. of Downingtown and Jeffrey D. Gill of Harrisburg.


Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10 to 11:am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

To the family, friends, and children of Joy. I am truly emotional and saddened by the passing of Joy. She was always a good spirited individual. I will forever remember her long, healthy, flowing hair; her WARM smile and funny laugh. What I admired most about her is that Joy was real. She was simply Joy. Whenever she would see me; she'd always make her way over to hug me and ask things about our childhood/fun times we shared. Joy, may your spirit live on. Jim and family. Im at loss for words. still cant believe it... Im glad i had Joy in my life these past 4 months. I truly cared about her and love her. She was one of the sweetest, most caring and most beautiful person anybody could meet. Im going miss her alot. Shes always going be in my heart... This hurts so much! I LOVE YOU FOREVER JOY!!!

My prayers are with the family. Her children, her father, and her grandbaby. No one can make this easier with words but you are all loved. And supported. My daughter took her first steps to her Aunt Joy and a place in my heart will always be held for her and the family she left behind. We shared wonderful memories. A piece of me left with her. Joy will always be near to our hearts, as will all of her children.
