William S. Wilson, 93, of West Goshen, died on Sunday, February 2, at the Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He was the husband of L. Virginia Schreck Wilson with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.
Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Mina E. McMullen and Arthur F. Wilson. He was a native of Dunkirk, NY and had resided in the West Chester area most his life.
He was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II in the Pacific Theater where he was active in the invasion of the Philippines.
He retired in 1982 after 36 years of service for the DuPont Company as a mechanical supervisor.
An avid bowler, he had bowled for over 30 years in the Business Men's League and in various tournaments. He also enjoyed playing golf. He was a former member of Grove Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Mark W., husband of Joan Rissell, Wilson of Parkesburg, grandchildren, Michael J. and Samantha L. Wilson, and a sister, Mary Husch of Dunkirk, NY. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norah Weller of California.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
