William S. Fisher

March 22, 1939 — July 19, 2023

William S. Fisher, 84, of New Holland, passed away at Garden Spot Village on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Judith L. McIntire Fisher with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Harry L. Fisher and Dorothy Mullen Fisher.

Bill was a Parkesburg area resident most of his life. He was part of the first graduating class at Octorara High School in 1957 where he was later inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. He was employed by Acme Markets where he worked for more than 35 years and retired as Senior Vice President at just 53 years of age.

Bill was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg where he served as Treasurer and Senior Warden. He was also a 55-year member of the Brandywine-Goddard Masonic Lodge where he served as Past Master. An avid hunter and golfer, Bill enjoyed spending time outdoors in the Pennsylvania mountains and served as President of the Coatesville Country Club.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons; W. Stephen Fisher II, of Hershey, and Brian K. Fisher (Seong Mee), of Korea; one granddaughter, Brianna Genovese, of West Chester; and four siblings; Alice Joy Sherman of Fairmont, PA, Betty Jane Probst of Florida, Bob Fisher of Gap, PA, Ralph Fisher of Huntingdon, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Harry Lee Fisher of Troy, PA.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 406 W 2nd Ave, Parkesburg, PA 19365 with visitation at the church from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Masonic Services will also be performed at the church at 10:45 AM.
