William J. Gabriel, Jr.

William J. Gabriel, Jr., 81, of Coatesville, died on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Harrison Senior Living Center in Christiana, PA. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late William J. Gabriel, Sr. and Dorothy P. Hawk Gabriel.

Bill was an area resident most his life. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1957. He was employed as a security officer by the former Lukens Steel Co. of Coatesville and later the West Chester University. He also was employed by  Chester and Berks County as a Deputy Sheriff.

He was a member of the Parkesburg VFW, the VFW in Bellview, FL, life member of the Polish American Club and West End Fire Company both of Coatesville and St. Stephens Parish PNCC of Reading, PA.

He is survived by two sons; Brian C. Gabriel and wife Brenda of Lancaster and Kevin T. Gabriel of Coatesville, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two sisters; Frances DiStefano and husband Vincent of Malvern, PA and Doris Tapkas and husband Jeffery of Millsboro, DE, nephews, nieces and many friends. He was preceded in death by one sister Carol Ann Gabriel.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA with the Reverend Edward D. Ratajack officiating. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10:00 am to the time of the service.
