William D. Welsch

William D. Welsch, 89, of Landis Homes, formerly of Parkesburg, died on Sunday, November 14, 2010 while under the care of Hospice of Lancaster county at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. He was the husband of Doris Harris Welsch since 2004 and his first wife the late Faye M. Welsch. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Riley Welsch.


Bill was retired from the Lukens Steel Co. of Coatesville. A resident of Parkesburg most of his life, he served on the Borough Council and also was a local deputy game warden. He was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church and the Brandywine Goddard Masonic Lodge #383 F. & A.M. of Coatesville.


He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three daughters; Donna Patterson of Christiana, Kathy, wife of James Geesey of Christiana, and Janet, wife of Al McCaskill of Chesapeake, VA, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one sister Anna Trommler of Millersville. He was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Crouse and three brothers; Charles, Lawrence and Lou.


Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 12:00 noon from the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA 19365. in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, Pa. 17604 or The Parkesburg United Methodist Church at the above address.
