William D. Martz

William D. Martz, 97, of Coatesville, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022.  He was the husband of Jeanette (Creasey) Martz, with whom he shared over 72 years of marriage.

Born in Berwick, Pa., William was the son of the late Viola (Knelly) and John Calvin Martz.

William served honorably in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater of World War II.

An area resident for over 68 years, William worked for Lukens Steel as an electrician for 38 years.

He enjoyed boating, especially on Harveys Lake.  He enjoyed sunrises and sunsets, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

William volunteered for both the Brandywine Hospital and the VA Hospital.

William is survived, in addition to his wife, by four children: Donald, husband of Louise, of Honey Brook, Edward, husband of Barbara, of Coatesville, Kathy, wife of John, of Coatesville, and Ruth Ann, wife of Paul, of Honey Brook; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 at 2 PM at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 107 South 17th Avenue, Coatesville, PA, 19320, with a viewing from 1 PM until the start of the service.
