Wallace Westley Beach, Jr.

Wallace Westley Beach, Jr., 61 years of age, of Parkesburg, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Nancy Peralta.  He was the son of Doris Bullock Beach of Charlotte, NC, formerly of East Elmhurst, NY, and the late Wallace W. Beach, Sr. Wallace was born in Flushing, New York on August 28, 1952. He grew up in East Elmhurst Queens, New York.

He was educated at the Maritime School of Culinary Arts.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy October 01, 1970 and served in active military service from 1970 through 1974. Wallace was honorably discharged May 26, 1976.

He remained in the reserves for an additional 2 years and finally left the service in 1978.

He was the Executive Chef for the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the Marriot Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ from 1979 through 1980.

He was the Director and the Executive Chef in charge of production for Conway Import Company in Long Island City, New York from 1981 through 1987.

Wallace relocated to Puerto Rico in 1988 due to health issues.

He had a condition called Marfans Syndrome. This is a slow deterioration of the major arteries in the body. The disease thins the lining of the walls of the major blood vessels and when blood pressure is raised too high it causes Aneurisms.

In 1988 Wallace had open heart surgery to repair several Aneurisms that had developed over the years.

Upon relocation to Puerto Rico, Wallace worked at the U.S. Military Base continuing his career as an Executive Chef.

In 1996 he was forced to return to New York to repair additional Aneurisms that had developed. This surgery left Wallace paralyzed from the waist down.

Even from a wheel chair, Wallace worked at additional positions that were within his capability as a handicapped person.

2010 through the present time Wallace worked as volunteer at the V.A. Medical Center in Coatesville, Pa. He lived in Parkesburg, Pa from 2010 to 2013.

Wallace was the perfect gentleman.  He always helped anyone in need. He loved Music, Camping and fishing.  His hobbies included cycling and photography.

He was a best friend to many that knew him.

Wallace is survived by his Mother Doris Bullock, his sister Janice Grady, his lifelong companion Nancy Peralta, his daughter Megan Ann Beach, his son Thomas Beach,  his granddaughter Baleigh Lydia Mahon, brother Inn-Law Hank Grady, niece Danielle Grady and a host of beloved family members and friends.

As he touched many lives Wallace will be truly missed.

He will leave a void that can never be replaced.

Rest in peace! You are in God's hands now.

A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 8:pm at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA. and also Wednesday morning, October 23, 2013 from 10am to 12:00 noon at the Alexander-Tuthill Funeral Home, 6447 Route 25A, Wading River, New York 11792. Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at the Wading River Baptist Church, 165 Wading River Manor Road, Wading River, NY followed by interment at the Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
