Wallace Leonard Wilson

Wallace Leonard Wilson, 74, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Excel Care at Lewes in Lewes, Delaware. He was the son of the late Kermit B. Wilson, Sr., and Annie L. (Robinson) Wilson.

He grew up in Parkesburg and graduated from Octorara Area High School in 1970. He played basketball and competed in track and field. He joined the Chess Club, Track & Field Club, Chef Club, and the Table Tennis Club.

Wally joined the Air Force in 1978 and was stationed at Minot AFB, North Dakota. Under honorable conditions from the Armed forces of the United States of America, Wallace L. Wilson, was discharged from the United States Air Force. After serving in the Air Force, he worked for Coatesville Veteran Affairs as a nurse technician. While employed at the VA he was on the softball player who played for their tournaments.

Wally loved his cars, roller skating and was a very humble man. Growing up in Parkesburg, he and his best friends Tyrone “Tidy” Harris, Chucky Ford, Petey Peters, and his brother Ricky Wilson were known as the “Ally Cats”. They used to call him “Knucks”. Also, he was affectionately known in Parkesburg as “Wally Wonder” to the younger generation. Many family members and friends remember him as a very comical and an outgoing person who loved to pull pranks on people. He always had a smile on his face.

Wally is survived by his brother, Kermit Wilson of Delaware, and one sister, Doris Wilson of Parkesburg, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Wilson. He is survived by his niece Gwendolyn Wilson of Delaware, and two nephew’s Christopher Wilson and Eron Wilson both of Los Angeles, CA, as well as two great-nieces Laura Brown and Alyssa Bryant, one great-nephew James Brown, and a host of cousins, and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion AME Cemetery, 404 Zion Hill Road, in Atglen, PA.
