Thomas Franklin Tuel

Thomas Franklin Tuel, 75, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 10, 2022, surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Kay Witmer Tuel for 30 years.  Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Owen and Emily Bird Tuel.

Tom was a 1964 graduate of Unionville High school.  He worked at Gindy Manufacturing Corporation which later became Budd Company. He later went to work for Keen's Lumber Company in Parkesburg, G. O. Carlson in Downingtown, and the Pontiana Farm in Unionville.  He was a member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church and the United States Steel Worker's Union.

Tom was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies.  He coached the Highland Little League baseball team from 1980 to 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Kay, his children, Sandra (Jason) Perkins of Atglen, Steve (Emily) Tuel of Parkesburg, stepson, Todd (Ellen) Witmer of Parkesburg,  grandchildren; Daniel and Aaron Wallace, Devin, Kelsey, Chase, and Abigal Tuel, Madeline Perkins, and TJ Witmer, great-grandchild, Harper Wallace,  and a sister, Patricia Tuel of Unionville.  He was preceded in death by a son David O. Tuel in 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, with a visitation starting at 1:30 p.m.  Interment will follow at Glen Run Cemetery, Atglen, PA. In order to protect those at risk, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing while at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warriors.
