Thelma J. Reeder

June 7, 1934 — February 18, 2022

Thelma J. Reeder, 87, passed away on Friday, February 18th, 2022 under the care of Newport Meadows of Christiana.  She was the widow of the late William F. Reeder, Jr., who passed away in 1998 after they had shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Thelma was the daughter of the late Ethel C. (Hearn) Young Roberts and Edward Young.

Thelma enjoyed baking, especially desserts; and she'll be remembered for her baked cream corn, five cup salad, and her chicken and dumplings.  She listened to classic country music like Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Ricky Van Shelton.  For years, she was kept company by her African Grey Parrot "Spanky."  Thelma enjoyed spending time with her family during Sunday family dinners, birthdays, and holidays.  Most of all, Thelma loved her family.

Thelma is survived by her two sons, William E. Reeder and wife Penny of Coatesville, Norman M. Reeder and wife Laura of Parkesburg; three grandchildren Bryan, Kevin and Colby; and two great-grandchildren Taylor and Chase.

She was predeceased by her son, Clarence Reeder, and her brother, Clarence Young.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 26th, 2022 at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery of East Fallowfield.  The viewing will be from 10 AM until the time of the service.
