Thelma E. Thompson, 81, of Atglen, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7th at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. She was the widow of the late Charles S. Thompson, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Christiana, she was the daughter of the late Mary Nixon Mobley Miller and John Mobley.
Thelma was a faithful member of Mt. Zion AME Church of Atglen, where she served as Missionary and Stewardess.
Thelma had worked at the former Coatesville Hosptial, NVF of Kennett Square and Burroughs of Downingtown, retiring 17 years ago.
She is survived by her four children: Deborah Lambert (Francis) of Parkesburg, James Thompson (Annabelle) of Yeadon, Dennis Thompson of Wilmington and Darlene Perry (Melvin) of Baltimore; 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
She was predeceased by three children, Charles Jr., Curtis and Lorraine; and three sisters.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 11 AM at Mt. Zion AME Church, 404 Zion Hill Rd, Atglen, PA 19310 followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. The viewing will be from 9 to 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church at the above address.
