Shirley Ann Swyderski

Shirley Ann Swyderski, 91, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of the late John A. Swyderski who passed away in 2017. Born in East Fallowfield Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late William H. Jr. and Esther Mulvaney McCarter.

Shirley was a 1951 graduate of Scott High School and a 1954 graduate of the Coatesville School of Nursing. She then received her B.S. in Education from West Chester University in 1971.

Shirley enjoyed nursing for many years in obstetrician gynecology. She practiced several other positions of nursing, including physician office manager, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the original Havard Nurses' Health Study since 1975. After she retired she volunteered with the AARP Tax Counseling for the Elderly.

She is survived by a son, Steven Swyderski of Coatesville, and a sister-in-law, Sally McCarter of East Fallowfield. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda.

A public memorial service may be held and when the details will be posted here when completed. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
