Shirley Celeste Hanna

Shirley Celeste Hanna, 83, of Parkesburg, PA, beloved wife of Howard H. Hanna, III for 65 years, went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 15, 2018. Born in Westwood, Valley Township, she was the daughter of the late Allen Armentrout, Sr. and Flora Belle Hammer Armentrout.

Shirley was a devout Christian and a member of the Sandy Hill Community Church. She loved to sing and perform in several choirs over the years as a soloist. Shirley was an artist, florist, sculptor, crafter and past owner of Shirley's Flowers. She loved spending hours making treasured crafts with her daughters and grandsons when they were young. She loved skating with the love of her life, Howard, in their early years of marriage and spent many a weekend skating to the tunes where they first met. Shirley enjoyed adventure in her younger years and took flying lessons at the Chester County Airport flying Cessna airplanes. She also had a soft spot for horses and other animals that brought her great joy.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two daughters; Linda Hanna and Sandra (Charles) Maul; grandsons Chaz Maul, Esq. and Michael Maul and two great granddaughters; Elouise and Alice Maul. She was preceded in death by one brother Allen Armentrout, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Sandy Hill Community Church, 420 S. Sandy Hill Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320.  Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the National Stroke Association www.stroke.org or the Sandy Hill Community Church at the above address.
