Sara W. "Sally" Zerr

Sara W. "Sally" Zerr, 83, of East Fallowfield, passed away peacefully into the hands of her Lord at her home on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. She was the devoted wife of the late Levi H. Zerr, Jr. who died in 2009. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer A. and Margaret Thorne White. Sally was a lifelong resident of the Coatesville area and a 1946 graduate of Coatesville High School. Following graduation, she worked for several years at Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville. After lovingly raising her children, Sally went back to work to establish the volunteer program at Brandywine Hospital and served there as Director of Volunteer Services for 22 years. She was  a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Geigertown and a former member of the Doe Run United Presbyterian Church. Sally was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Brandywine Hospital.

She is survived by two children, Barbara A. (nee Stroup) wife of Glenn Kendro of Honey Brook, PA and Jay Stroup and wife Jackie Boatwright of Oxford, two grandchildren; Ryan N. Kendro and Devon N. Stroup and two siblings; Barrie Lee White of Hutchinson Island, FL and Margaret Dunlap of Coatesville. She was preceded in death by her brother Wilmer White and sister Geraldine Jon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg followed by interment at St. Paul's Methodist Cemetery in Geigertown. Visitation from 10 to 11:00 am.
