Sallie M. Mummert

Sallie M. Mummert, 72, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. She was the beloved wife of Allen W. Mummert, Jr. with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Dorothy Harkins Moore.

Sallie was an area resident most of her life and 1962 graduate of the Scott High School in Coatesville. After graduation, she continued her education at the Pierce Business School in Philadelphia.

Throughout her life, Sallie was employed by the Coatesville Area School District in the cafeteria, elected tax collector and secretary for East Fallowfield Twp. and her last place of employment was with Breuninger Real Estate retiring in 2003.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by four children; Tamara L. Holt and husband Steven of Landenberg, Allen W. Mummert, III and wife Karyn of Cochranville, Scott D. Mummert of East Fallowfield and Tracey L. Johnston and husband Brian of East Fallowfield, and eight grandchildren; Blake, Brandon and Brooke Holt, A.J. and Cutter Mummert, Avery, Alivia and Wesley Johnston.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with a viewing from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. Interment will be private.
