Ruth T. Simmers

Ruth T. Simmers, 85, of New Holland, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Ephrata Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Raymond F. Simmers, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Susan Myers Trego. An area resident her entire life, she was 1941 graduate of the Coatesville High School. She was employed at PECO Energy in Thorndale, retiring in 1986. Ruth was a member of the Parkesburg Baptist Church.

Ruth is survived, in addition to her husband, by her sister Arlene Thomas of Christiana and her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and close friends Donna and Jerry Sherman. Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters Betty Trego Neidermyer and Mary Trego Souders McClure, and her brother Jack Trego.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 11 AM at the Parkesburg Baptist Church, 103 West Street, Parkesburg, PA 19365, followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Church from 10 AM until the time of the service.
