Ruth E. "Sis" Mcewing

Ruth E. "Sis" McEwing, 85, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Christiana, PA.  She was the wife of the late W. James McEwing Sr. who passed away in 2010.  Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna McNally Mowrey.

Ruth was a Parkesburg resident all her life.  She graduated from Parkesburg High School in 1955 and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in town.

She is survived by her children, W. James (Beth) McEwing of Atglen, PA, David (Valerie) of Parkesburg, and John McEwing of Christiana, PA, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and siblings, Mary Tennant of Morgantown, Florence "Kip" Hager of Florida, and Anna Baker of Parkesburg.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth "Bib" Savage.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July,18, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA with visitation starting at 10:00AM Interment to follow at Upper Octorara Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg
