Roseanna Terriman, 67, wife of Jack J. Terriman of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, February 12th, 2021 at her home, under the care of Penn Hospice.
Rose was the daughter of the late Garfield and Betty Beam McCoy. She was employed for 45 years by Lukens Steel, now ArcelorMittal USA, where she held the position of Technical Specialist. However, she was most proud of her former role as Assistant to the President of Lukens Steel.
After serving on the West Sadsbury Township Planning Board for 10 years she joined the Zoning Board in 2005 and served until her illness in 2018. Rose was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Coatesville YWCA. She was a member of the Lukens Veterans’ Guild and the National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum. She also served in various capacities for the successful campaigns of Robert E. and Nancy A. Gill, Magisterial District Judges, in their 1995, 2001, 2006, 2013 and 2019 campaigns. The Gills were near and dear to her heart. She referred to Nancy as her sister.
Rose received the Weise Award for Community Service from Lukens. She also received two Technical Services Achievement Awards from ArcelorMittal, having been nominated by her former Manager, the late Alexander Wilson.
Rose practiced yoga at the direction of Pam Walsh for over a decade and enjoyed it very much. She also enjoyed flower gardening and cooking but mostly enjoyed her home, family, friends, co-workers, community and pets.
She was extremely grateful for Dr. Reiss Binder’s clinical trial into BRCA related pancreatic cancer. Rose felt this trial extended and surely improved the quality of her life.
Surviving is her devoted husband of more than 45 years, Jack. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen Turpin (Douglas) of Mountain Grove, MO; Karen Irwin (Tim) of Downingtown, PA; Darlene McCoy of Parkesburg and brother, Jeffery McCoy (Stephanie) of New Holland, PA. She leaves behind a very special niece/God Daughter, Kimberly Nelson of Spring, TX and a nephew, Joshua Lizasuain of Gap, as well a God Daughter, Nicole Davis. Also remaining is her beloved cat Luke, and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and extended family. They were all special in her heart. She was blessed to have many close friends who always provided love and support.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to one of the following: Penn Medicine Department, c/o Andrew Bellet, 3535 Market St., Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (note on check: support of Dr. Reiss Binder’s research for BRCA related pancreatic cancer); The National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum, 50 South First Avenue, Coatesville, PA 19320; or the Parkesburg Point, 70 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA 19365.
