Rose L. Miller

Rose L. Miller, 88, of Lancaster, died on March 23, 2013 at the Chester Valley Rehab Center of Malvern. She was the wife of the late Lawrence R. "Hip" Miller who died in 1999. Born in Alexandria, LA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Pernella Haywood Washington.

Rose was employed at the former Embreeville Hospital. She was a member of the Mt,. Zion AME Church in Atglen and a former member of the Order of The Eastern Star.

She is survived by two siblings; Mayola Hardsin of Lancaster and Freddie Washington of Alexandria, VA, niece Patricia Miles, whom she raised, nephews; Andrew, Clarence and William Dorty, niece Phylicia Miles and great nephews and nieces; Maurice, Briana, Nanana, Deshaun and Lamont Dorty and Milo Albright.

She was preceded in death by siblings Lawrence Bradley and Jessie Mae Billut.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11am from the Mt. Zion AME Church, 404 Zion Hill Road, Atglen, PA 19310 followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing at the church from 9 to 11am.
