Ronald E. Herr

Ronald E. Herr, 86, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023. He was the husband of the late Nancy Martin Herr who passed away in 1996. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Marvin Herr and Nellie Lawrence Keech, along with his stepfather, Frank “Pap” Keech.

Ron was an area resident all his life. He retired from the shipping department at the former Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville, PA. He was also a member of Friends of the Railroad Museum, the Train Collectors Club of America, Eastern Lancaster County Rod & Gun Club, and the Parkesburg United Methodist Church.

He was a collector of model trains.
He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and tractor shows. Most days were spent with his children and grandchildren, as well as the grand dogs.

He is survived by his children, Ronald (Carol) Herr, John (Kelly) Herr, Robin (David) Kurman, and Jim (Bonnie) Herr, all of Parkesburg, 4 grandchildren, Samantha (Mark) Jenkins, Jacob Kurman, Jeffrey (Anja) Herr, and Amanda Herr, & 6 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Mark, Lillian, Michael, Colton, & Liam.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Friends of the Railroad Museum or a charity of your choice.
