Ronald E. Geedey, Sr.

Ronald E. Geedey Sr., 78, of Cochranville, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Chester County Hospital.  He was the widower of the late Martha (Moore) Geedey, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Denholm, Pa., he was the son of the late Cloyd E. Geedey and Tressie (Maben) Geedey.  He was a graduate of Downingtown High School and Penn State University.
He served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War.  He was employed by the US. Government in the General Accounting Office in Philadelphia and Mechanicsburg, retiring at age 55.
He was an antique dealer and collector; and was an authority on Revolutionary War antiques.  He loved gardening, playing Bridge, and Penn State sports.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He will be sadly missed by his adoring family.
He is survived by four children: Marcia G. Smallwood, wife of Chip, of Cochranville, Lisa G. Knox of West Chester, Ronald E. Geedey, Jr., husband of Ann, of Gap, and Mary G. Swarts, wife of John, of West Chester, 10 grandchildren, one great granddaughter; and two brothers, Larry Geedey of Elverson and Carl Geedey of Lewisburg.
He was preceded in death by one grandson Jonathan M. Knox.
Memorial services will be held on next Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11 AM from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with the Rev. Jason Link officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 until 11 AM.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
