Ronald Barry Griffith, 80, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Green Meadows Nursing Home of Malvern, PA. He was the beloved husband of Susan Coyler-Griffith with whom he shared 25 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Jackson H. Griffith and Rose Mattson Griffith Messner.
Ron was an area resident all his life and a 1962 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. He was employed by the former Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville as a 1st Class Welder. Later in life, he owned and operated a junkyard on Telegraph Road near Honey Brook, PA. He often donated automobiles to local fire companies that used them in training to practice rescue techniques.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by four children; Shelli Griffith and husband Raymond Hooper of West Caln, Jackson Griffith and wife Kristin of Lancaster, Michael Griffith of West Chester, and Kaitlyn Griffith of Hawaii, three grandchilden; Alex Griffith, Alyssa Hooper and Grant Lilly and one brother David H. Griffith and wife Gaye Lynn of Coatesville. He was preceded in death by one son Ronald B. Griffith, Jr. and two siblings; William Griffith and Terry Griffith McLucas.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
