Robert Winfield Bernard

Robert W. Bernard, 91 formerly of Coatesville, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on November 21, 2016 at Pocopson Nursing Home. He was the beloved and dedicated husband to Iris V.(Dean) Bernard with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville on May 1, 1925, Robert was the son to the late Hiram B. and Blanche S. Bernard. Robert served honorably in the US Navy. He mainly grew up in Coatesville all of his life, worked and retired by the former Lukens Steel Company of Coatesville. He was an interesting and amazing man, also a great friend and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Great Uncle.

He is survived, in addition to his Wife, by his Daughters Barbara J. Eckenroth and Debbie A. Hoffecker; two Granddaughters Nicole L. Mammarella and Brittany L. Burns and one Grandson Steven J. Mammarella; two Great Granddaughters Ashley A. Mammarella and Madison E. Cox; one Great Grandson Austin R. Cox. Uncle of Nieces and their husbands and Great Nieces that live in England along with a Brother in law and Sister in law. In addition to two nephews and their families here in the states. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.  All services will be private at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Pocopson Nursing Home and Hospice that provided such compassionate care.
