Robert A. Rice, Sr.

Robert A. Rice, Sr., 76, of Coatesville, PA passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 26, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor Jane Phipps Rice with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late David Rice and Helen Scrafford Rice.

Robert was a lifelong resident of Coatesville and a 1966 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville, PA. After graduation he went on to proudly serve in the US Army in Vietnam as a military policeman.

He was employed by the former Richard Armstrong Corporation in Romansville, PA. He enjoyed hunting.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons; Robert A. Rice, Jr. and wife April of West Lawn, PA and Steven Kyle Rice of Coatesville, six grandchildren and one brother David Rice.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10:00 AM to the time of the service followed by burial at the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery in East Fallowfield, PA.
