Robert Louis Walton, Sr.

October 16, 1933 — May 22, 2020

Robert Louis Walton, Sr., 86, of Atglen, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on May 22, 2020.  He was the loving husband of Verna Stoltzfus Walton since 1958.

Robert was a resident of the Parkesburg Area during most of his lifetime.  He was the son of the late Harold E, and Ruth Nuss Walton.

He was employed by Lambert's Chrysler Plymouth of Coatesville as an auto mechanic and then joined Walton's Garage in Parkesburg with his father and continued on at the garage after the death of his father.  He was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church for 75 plus years.  He was also a member of the Parkesburg VFW.

Robert proudly served in the Army, stationed in Korea 1954-1955.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his family, food, and going on vacation.  He liked watching NASCAR and going to ball games.

Robert is survived in addition to his wife by his daughter, Cindy and husband Tom Wertz of Narvon, Pa and daughter in law Cynthia Walton of Canton, Pa., 4 grandchildren, Allison and husband John Majcher, Keith Walton, Josh and wife Lynnellen Wertz and Amy McLaughlin plus 6 great-grandchildren, Victoria, Ian, Sarah, Emily, Grace, and Luke; his sister Nancy Butcher, brother-in-law Lee (Joyce) Stoltzfus, and sister in law, Fern Dull.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert L. Walton, Jr in 2001 and sister Betty Shockney; and brothers-in-law Jay and Wilmer Stoltzfus.

Interment will take place at Upper Octorara Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
