Robert L. Huyard, Sr.

Robert L. Huyard, Sr., 85, of Christiana, PA, formerly of Parkesburg, died on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the husband of Grace V. Scott Huyard who died in May, 2016. Born in Modena, he was the son of the late Frank Huyard and Florence Troup Huyard.

Bob was an area resident all his life. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1956.  He was employed by the former Lukens Steel Company of Coatesville as a heater retiring in 1987.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing golf, cards and bingo at the Parkesburg Apartments with his friends. He also obtained a black belt in Karate.

He is survived three children; Robin Worrell of Upper Chichester, PA, Robert L. Huyard, Jr. and wife Ruth of Atglen and Christina Huyard of Parkesburg, one step daughter Judy Scott of Parkesburg, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three siblings; Virginia Huyard of West Nottingham, James Huyard of Coatesville and Donald Huyard of Blue Ball, PA. He was preceded in death by one son Steven Huyard, two sisters; Arlene White and Pauline Brackin and three brothers; Frank Huyard, Ross Wright and Richard Huyard.

Services and burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
