Robert L. "Blackie" Lash, Jr.

March 19, 1932 — January 20, 2017

Robert L Lash (Blackie), 84 of Downingtown, Pa. Passed away on January 20, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

Born on March 19, 1932 in Pottsville, Pa. He was the son of the late Robert Luther and Dorothy (Boyer) Lash. He attended the Philadelphia area schools before enlisting in the Army National Guard. He was formerly employed with Forge Mill Work of Malvern as a truck driver. Blackie also owned and operated various businesses throughout his life, including Lash's Tavern in West End of Coatesville, and most recently Lash Cleaning.

He was a Boy Scout leader for many years when his sons were younger. He was Catholic by faith and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Downingtown. He loved telling stories from the Bible to his children and grandchildren. He loved his god.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Mcginnis) Lash of Downingtown. His step-children, Tina Griffith, wife of Joe of Coatesville, Pa. Sheila Ross wife of Miguel of Downingtown, Pa. Dawn Ross of Honey Brook (Frank Duca) and Edward Ross husband of Jenn of Coatesville, Pa. His son Robert Lash Jr. husband of Linda of Atglen, pa. Blackie and Evie's son Billyjoe Lash of Downingtown, pa. Rafael Almanza, a long time family friend. He also had many grandchildren and great grand children, who loved him dearly. His brother Danny and sisters Shirley and Tootie. He was predeceased by his son Wyatt Lash, and his beloved dog Dalton.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Oxford, Pa. As well as all the nurses and aides for their care and support during these past 9 months.
