Robert J. Sarmento

Robert J. Sarmento, 74, of Modena, passed away on Thursday, January 3rd, 2019 under the care of Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester, surrounded by his family.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Wingler) Sarmento, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage.
Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Wilda (Cordosky) and Louis Sarmento.
He served honorably in the US Navy as a photographer from 1962 to 1965.
Robert retired after 30 years of work at Handi-Crafters in Thorndale as an Instructor.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing (including fly tying), the mountains, the beach, and gardening.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his daughter, Barbara Brennan and husband John, of West Chester, his granddaughters, Rashelle Brennan and Domenique Sarmento along with his siblings, Nancy Eachus of West Chester, Thomas Sarmento of West Chester, Michael Sarmento of Maryland, and Janie Paup of Colorado.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert J. Sarmento Jr; and siblings, Louis Jr., Frank, Joseph and John Sarmento.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 11 AM at the Coatesville VA All Faith Chapel, Building 72, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320, with visitation from 10 until 11 AM.
