Robert J. Myers

Robert J. Myers, 89, of New Holland, PA, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. He was the beloved husband of Sara Jean Swisher Myers with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar J. Myers and Julia Kuch Myers.

Bob was an area resident all his life and a 1952 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville where he excelled at sports, particularly football.  He loved driving and travel.  His family road trips by car and later motorhome, covered all of the continental US and Alaska.   He was employed for over 40 years by the Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville retiring as maintenance foreman.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two children; Robert J. Myers and wife Jane of Coatesville and Brenda Shadish and husband Dale of Fredericksburg, Virginia, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister Ethel Zevtchin.

A Celebration of Life Service is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
