Robert H. Whisler, Jr.

Robert H. Whisler, Jr., 71, of Gap, PA died on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Tel-Hai Retirement Community of Honey Brook, PA. He was the beloved husband of Mamie S. McCarraher Whisler with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Robert H. Whisler, Sr. and Edith C. Rafine Whisler.

Bob was a 1964 graduate of the Great Valley High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

He was employed most of his life as a truck driver.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; Robert E. Whisler and wife Joy of Gap, Eric J. Whisler and wife Bridget of Parkesburg and Jeffrey A. Whisler of Gap, six grandchildren; Ashley, Eric II, Brandon, Zachary, Jordan and Alexis, one great grandson Eric, III and four siblings; Harlan "Corky" Whisler of Phoenixville, Leona Devore of Downingtown, Jack Friel of Coatesville and Barry Friel of New Holland. He was preceded in death by one sister Donna Donnell.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 3:00pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 2:00pm to the time of the service.
