Rev. James F. Barco

Rev. James F. Barco, 74, of Coatesville, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 under the care of the Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester.  He was the beloved husband of Camille (DiNapoli) Barco, with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, James was the son of the late Irene and Fredrick Barco.

He earned a BA from Southeastern College and a Masters in Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a Masters in Education from North Adams State College in Massachusetts.  Jim taught elementary school for 3 years before becoming an ordained minister by the Assemblies of God.  Over the course of 22 years in ministry, he served at Bethel Assemblies of God, North Adams, MA, Bethel Assemblies of God, Guilford, CT, Full Gospel Church, Wall, NJ, and Kingsway Assemblies of God, Cherry Hill, NJ.  He served in numerous leadership positions at a district/state level.  Next, he moved to Valley Forge Christian College as the Registrar.  Upon retiring from college, he served as an adjunct instructor teaching biblical courses.

James enjoyed golfing, gardening and was an avid reader.  He authored 3 books and had the 1st published, entitled Excel in Your World.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren, attending their sports activities and concerts.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his son, Glenn Barco, husband of Kristine, and daughter, Melanie (Barco) Schillinger, wife of Mark; seven grandchildren: James Barco, Caroline Barco, Kylie Barco, Emily Schillinger, Allison Schillinger, Ryan Schillinger and Nathan Schillinger; and one brother, Gene Barco of Tallahassee, Fl.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 23 at 2 PM at the Willowdale Chapel, 675 Unionville Rd, Kennett Square, PA 19348 with visitation from Noon until 2PM.
