Her home was known by all as the as the place to go. Her door was always open and she welcomed you with opened arms. She was a person that was relatable, transparent, giving, and most of all loving. She would tell you like it is, never biting her tongue or sugarcoating anything while at the same time she would feed you ensure that you were comfortable and created a presence that made you feel warm, safe and ultimately special.

For 30+ years Phyllis was the family caregiver and anytime someone needed care she was the first to unselfishly jump for the job. She did it without hesitation, and never waited for help, she was the help. In her free time she enjoyed going to casinos, hosting and playing poker games, and traveling. She also enjoyed her daily visits to the Mobile to see Sonny. She love to dance and knew all the line dances. She love to Bopp, especially with her two cousins Jake “Arnold” Hammond, and Robert “Bobby” Folks. Phyllis had the type of personality that would stamp your heart because everything that she did was with love and intention.
