Peter L. "Pete" Barlow

Peter L. "Pete" Barlow, 86, of West Grove, passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of May 5th surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie Snyder Barlow with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Born in Mountain City, TN, he was the son of the late James and Sarah Walker Barlow.


He was the loving father of three daughters; Helen Wallace and husband Charlie of Cochranville, Shirley McLimans and husband John of West Grove and Patricia Homitz and husband Michael of Chatham, seven granddaughters, 11 great grandchildren, sister Loreen Armstrong and brothers Glen and Laverne Barlow. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.


Pete served his Country in the US Army during WWII in Germany. He was an active member of the American Legion Post #194 of Rising Sun, MD and a lifetime member of the VFW as well as a longtime member of the Strasburg Sportsmen's Club. Pete loved camping, fishing and restoring antique cars. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, followed by interment at Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing on Wednesday Evening from 6 to 8:00 pm and also Thursday morning from 10 to 11:00 am.
