Paul Steven Wolfe

Paul Steven "Steve" Wolfe, 68, of Furlong, PA, passed away at the Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA on Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Steve was born on December 9, 1949 in Coatesville, PA to Paul Laverne Wolfe and Doris Virginia Gable Wolfe. He was a 1967 graduate of the Octorara High School.

Steve was a romantic at heart and displayed that in his many talents. He was a singer, songwriter, an accomplished guitarist, and a championship drummer in high school. He opened for many well-known acts in the Philadelphia area with his own songs to good reviews. The “Flaming Caucasions”, one of WMMR's house bands, “Steve Wolfe and the Secret” and “Crazy Heart” were a few of the bands in which he played during the 70's and 80's. Whether singing “Wooly Bully” to a large crowd or “Froggy Went a' Courtin” to his great-niece, Maddie, his performances were enjoyed by all. Most recently his creative talent turned to poetry, which included publishing a book entitled “Scars.”

His love was music, but he also enjoyed his years working as a cab driver. More recently, he was employed for 22 years as a Piano Tuner in the Southeastern PA area before retiring.

He is survived by his partner, Jan McCloud, who is also a Piano Tuner and musician.

Also surviving are his brothers, Douglas L. Wolfe, of Jensen Beach, FL and Michael E. Wolfe (wife, Deb) of Christiana, PA, his god-daughter, Hannah Fader, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He enjoyed them all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Brian J. Wolfe and one niece Morgan E. Wolfe .

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Wolfe officiating. Visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Chandler House Hospice, 99 Barclay St. Newtown, PA 18940.
