Paul L. Wolfe

February 22, 1924 — September 17, 2016

Paul L. Wolfe, 92, of Parkesburg, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was the husband of the late Doris Gable Wolfe who died in 1999. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Austin and Margretta Kauffman Wolfe.

Paul was an area resident all his life and a graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII and was awarded the American Campaign Medal, the European-African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. After the war, he was employed by the Lukens Steel Company retiring in 1986 as a machinist with 44 years of service.

He was a member of the Parkesburg United Presbyterian Church where, at one time, he had served as Trustee.

He is survived by three sons; Steve Wolfe and companion Jan McCloud of Furlong, PA, Doug Wolfe of Jensen Beach, FL, Michael Wolfe and wife Deb of Christiana, PA, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Brian Wolfe, three brothers; Harold, Dave and Benjamin Wolfe and one sister Josephine Daniels.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 10 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Paul's memory to the Department of Veterans Affairs, designated to the Hospice and Palliative Care Program with Paul's name in the memo.  Mailing address:   Coatesville VA Medical Center Voluntary Services, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320.
