Nolan Clyde Smith, 86, of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, PA passed away on April 26, 2015 at Maple Farm in Akron, PA.  Born in Swedesboro, NJ on November 22, 1929 he lived in the South Jersey area until four years ago when he and his wife, Etta, moved to Coatesville, PA.

Nolan enjoyed playing football in 1945 and 1946 for Paulsboro High School, Paulsboro, NJ.  He enjoyed gardening and he had one of the best home gardens in the "Garden State" and was proud of his "pickings".  You would find him in the garden or working in the yard when he wasn't working at DuPont's Chambers Works in Deepwater, NJ.  He worked for DuPont for 40 years.

Nolan was preceded in death by his wife, Etta; parents Effie and Jess Smith and three brothers: Bobby, Edward and Kenneth.  He is survived by two sons, Edward (Darlene) of New Holland, PA and Nolan A. Smith of Houston, TX; three grandsons and one granddaughter: Gary (Riann) of Ann Arbor, MI; Christopher Smith of Pine Hill, NJ; Darren (Keri) of Houston, TX and Melissa Smith of Seattle, WA; seven great grandchildren: Christopher, Austin, Nicolas, Audrey, Caleb, Kaitlyn and Emma.

The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Farm and AseraCare Hospice for their comforting and professional care during Nolan's final days.  The love that they showed to him was a sign of their commitment to Godly care.

Nolan's cremains will be buried together at a later date with his wife, Etta at Eglington Memorial Gardens, Clarksboro, NJ.  A small service will be performed at that time.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.  Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
