Nicola Ficca

Nicola Ficca, 92, of Parkesburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Harrison Senior Living in Christiana, PA.  He was the widower of the late Alica Ficca, who passed away in May of this year after they had shared 67 of marriage together.

Born in the Province of Chieti, Torrioilla, Italy, Nicola was the son of the late Felica and Mariano Ficca.  Nicola came to America in 1938.  He served honorably in World War II with the US Army as a PFC anti aircraft artillery man.

Nicola was employed for 37 years at Continental Can of Devon, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church of Parkesburg.

Nicola is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Kraft of Paoli, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, Nicola Ficca, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 602 Second Ave. Parkesburg on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11 AM followed by entombment at St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester. Viewing at the Church from 10am until the time of the service.
