Nicholas R. Fantini, 69, of East Fallowfield, PA, formerly of Dunellen, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Coatesville VA Hospice Unit in Coatesville, PA. He was the beloved husband of Colleen Byrnes Fantini with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. Born in Plainfield, NJ, he was the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Zostalta Fantini.
Nick served honorably in the US Marine Corp from 1958 to 1962. He was self employed in the trucking industry. While living in New Jersey, he was active as Scoutmaster, for over 30 years, with Boy Scout Troop 29 of Dunellen, NJ and he served as both Elder and Deacon at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Dunellen. A resident of East Fallowfield for the past four years, he was a member of the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church of Parkesburg, PA.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; Laura, wife of Lou Irizarry of Long Branch, NJ, Nicholas J. Fantini and wife Colleen of Maineville, Ohio and Katherine, wife of Timothy Jones of East Fallowfield, nine grandchildren and two brothers; Ralph Fantini of Scotch Plains, NJ and Anthony Fantini of Port St. Lucie, FL.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 1:00 pm from the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365 and also on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00 pm from the 1st Presbyterian Church of Dunellen, 218 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, NJ 08812.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to BSA Troop 29, c/o Manfred Geiger, 110 Front St., Dunellen, NJ 08812 or The Coatesville VA Hospice Unit, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320.
